EMUNAH – Nicodemus
The story of Nicodemus is chiefly chronicled in the Gospel of John chapter 3 verses 1-21, where he had the iconic conversation on salvation with Jesus. Nicodemus is also mentioned in John 7:50-51 and later again in John 19:39. When we piece the entire story of Nicodemus together we see him go from believing that Jesus is a teacher but only visiting Him under the cover of darkness (John 3:2) to boldly defending Him before other Pharisees (John 7:50-51) and finally to assisting in His burial after the crucifixion (John 19:39). What does Nicodemus teach us on the topic of faith?
EMUNAH – Jerubbal
He lived in a time of oppression. His people were so oppressed that they had resorted to caves and dens in the mountains for safety and shelter. Their crops were destroyed and livestock driven away several times over the course of 7 years. They lived in constant fear, were starving and had to carry out harvesting activities in secret. They had lost faith and hope. When they cried out to the Lord in distress, He sent them a prophet to remind them that they had chosen this path for themselves. That after His covenant faithfulness, they turned their backs on Him and worshipped the gods of the people who now persecuted them. However the Lord did not leave them destitute; He sent an angel to visit a man from the clan of Abiezer, who was threshing wheat at the bottom of a wine press. This man’s name is…

CHRIST: THE PERFECT IMAGE
Hebrews 1:1-3 “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and…
IMAGO DEI – ROGUE IMAGES
The human being is one fascinating creature. We are capable of the greatest good and the most heinous acts. A close look at human history reveals something fundamentally wrong with us. As the famed English journalist and satirist, Malcom Muggridge put it; “The depravity of man is at once the most empirically verifiable reality but at the same time the most intellectually resisted fact”. But if as we concluded in our first episode, humans are the walking talking representatives of God in His good world, why are we so messed up? How did we blow this privilege? Join us as we explore these thoughts in episode two of our Imago Dei series dubbed; ROGUE IMAGES.
